We appreciate that choosing to undertake a qualification is an important decision for adult learners. Not only do you have to consider the financial implications, but you also have to make time to attend sessions and complete course work in an already busy life. We know the pleasure and difficulties of being an adult learner. All our tutors have continued to take qualifications and gain further experience in their subjects as adults, and for many the learning journey still continues!
As a socially aware organisation we believe that education is a life long adventure, available to all who choose to undertake it, for whatever ultimate reason - whether for pleasure or as a step towards a new career. It is our aim to increase adult education, especially to learners who may not have considered training before.

One of the biggest barriers to learners is the cost of training courses. SALSA is a small non-profit making organisation, but this does not prevent us from offering high quality courses, which means paying fair and proper remuneration for our tutors and suppliers of resources. We are constantly involved in looking for external funds, grants and donations to help reduce of the cost of programmes for certain learners, and will happily help and guide learners to look for funding from various sources.
We work hard so that inability (as distinct from unwillingness) to pay is not a barrier to involvement in our activities, and we have introduced simple, easy to manage payment plans for our accredited learning programmes. These are worked out individually with each learner and in confidence. Unlike larger training providers we have devised this system to fit in with your personal circumstances, rather than impose a system that meets the needs of the organisation. If you would like to participate in our activities, but feel that cost may be a barrier, please speak to us in confidence.
SALSA was formed by people who value the lifelong benefits of adult education. As a small organisation dedicated to improving the emotional wellbeing in the communities we serve, we realise the importance of being treated and understood as an individual. We take time to get to know you and ensure that your chosen training is right for your current needs. If not, we will attempt to signpost you to other learning providers.
Once on a training course you will be taught by professional, qualified and friendly people in small groups at easily accessible and adult-based locations. Because we work on a selected number of accredited courses throughout the year, we are able to be contacted during your programme if required for additional support and guidance. Once your training is complete we are still there to help and support you with your next steps. We are not tied into term times, difficult to locate by telephone or make changes without fully informing you first.
As Oscar Wilde once said 'we are not perfect, but parts of us are excellent', and in collaboration with our learners and partners, we are constantly aiming to improve all parts!
If this sounds like your way of working and learning, we would love to meet you and discuss your needs. We can be contacted on 01204 650050 or by completing the training enquiry form.
