• Anger Awareness Training (Group Programme)
A two day programme aimed at providing an insight into understanding anger and an opportunity to learn techniques and methods to help yourself and others. Although primarily aimed at increasing personal awareness, the course is particularly useful for people who work with a range of clients where the management of anger may be an issue.

• Anger Awareness Training (Individual Programme)
The above training package has also been developed into an individual therapy programme. This confidential, structured programme is offered on a one-to-one therapeutic basis, to provide an intensive way of helping an individual understand and effectively manage their emotions.
• Assertiveness at Work
Target groups: Personal assertiveness is a skill that can be used successfully in many different types of employment, or as a general life skill, so the target group is widespread.
Course aim: This award aims to develop assertiveness skills, enabling candidates to carry out their role in the workplace more effectively. It also aims to encourage learners to take more responsibility for their own development and to increase their options for employment
Course content:
– What is assertiveness?
– How can assertiveness help you?
– The building blocks of assertive behaviour
– Practising assertiveness techniques
– Handling criticism assertively
Course duration: 20 guided learning hours. Can be delivered as 6, three and half hour sessions or four full days training (5 hours per day).
• Counselling Techniques for working with Young People
If you are involved in working with young people or are a parent or carer helping youngsters through difficult life changes, this four week course is for you. Our experienced young persons' counsellor will share with you some tried and tested counselling techniques to help you and young people work together creatively, leading to improved communication skills. This is also an ideal taster programme for people who are considering working with young people in the future.

• Emotions and Solutions
Target groups: Professionals dealing with people facing difficult decisions and change. Ideal for education, health and social welfare staff.
Course aim: to provide professionals without any prior psychotherapeutic training, with the skills to manage emotional individuals as part of their role.
Course content:
– Explore the need to build trust and rapport
– Gain an understanding of how they can positively influence a situation
– Establish the preparation needed before a difficult discussion
– Review what they are trying to achieve at each part of the discussion
– Practice effective questioning and listening skills
– Practice managing a variety of emotions

Course duration: 12 hours
• Key principles of Motivational Interviewing
An opportunity to learn more about this popular proactive brief therapy. Originally devised by US therapists, Prochaska and DiClimente, to help people break their substance misuse addictions, our two day course will introduce ideas on how this model can be adapted to help people change many forms of self-destructive behaviour. Aimed at trainee and experienced counsellors, and those who work with people who have challenging behaviour. Led by a qualified counsellor and trainer.
• Key principles of Relationship Counselling
It is impossible to remove ourselves from the impact that relationships in the past and present have on our lives. Although often positive, negative relationships experiences can leave a lasting legacy and prevent people from leading fulfilling lives. This two day course is primarily aimed at trainee and experienced counsellors, to help them work more productively with clients who are often handicapped by their relationship history. Led by an experienced Relate trainer.

• Peer Mentoring
Target groups: Teachers, school support staff looking to implement a peer mentoring programme. 16 Ð 18 year old students.
Course aim: To understand the peer listening scheme, how it runs, the role of the peer listener and available support.
Course content:
– Discover more about the peer listening scheme and considered the role of a peer listener.
– Discuss some of the issues faced by peer listeners.
– Discuss the personal impact of being a peer listener.

Target groups: This award is ideal for anyone who wants to improve their work-life balance.
Course aim: The award aims to analyse candidates' present use of time. Candidates will also be introduced to a range of ideas and techniques to improve their time management skills.

• Understanding Loss - A personal and professional perspective
A sensitive group approach to looking at the impact of bereavement and the experiences of grief on individuals and families. Our experienced therapists have had many years of working with clients who have known grief and loss.
This short course aims to provide an understanding of the varied feelings and emotions attached to bereavement, and consider ways of moving on. This is particularly suitable for those who work with people where bereavement and loss is an issue.
